In three ODIs and five T20Is, the India women’s cricket team will play England. On June 28, Trent Bridge in Nottingham will host the first game of the series. The teams for the white-ball assignments were revealed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday, May 15.
Ten changes have been made to the T20I team. Their most recent Twenty20 International match was against the West Indies in Navi Mumbai on December 19, 2024. The only members of the team that have managed to hold onto their spots from the West Indies series are captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh, Jemimah Rodrigues, and all-rounder Deepti Sharma.
For the T20I series in England, Uma Chetry, Nandini Kashyap, Raghvi Bist, Sajeevan Sajana, Minnu Mani, Priya Mishra, Renuka Singh, Titas Sadhu, Saima Thakor, and Radha Yadav have been replaced by Shafali Verma, Yastika Bhatia, Harleen Deol, Sneh Rana, Sree Charani, Shuchi Upadhyay, Amanjot Kaur, Arundhati Reddy, Kranti Gaud, and Sayali Satghare.
Regarding the ODI team, the selectors haven’t changed anything from the 15-man team that defeated South Africa and Sri Lanka in the just finished tri-series in Colombo.
The Indian women’s squad will benefit from the upcoming three ODIs in England as they get ready for the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, which will take place in India in September and October. Particularly at home, England is a formidable team. Before the series against India, they will host the West Indies, who will play three Twenty20 Internationals and as many One-Day Internationals as possible.
