As the rivalry between India and Pakistan takes centre stage, security worries affect where the World Cup semi-finals will be held.

The schedule for the Men’s One-Day International (ODI) Cricket World Cup 2023 has just been announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC). From October 5 to November 19, 2023, the game will be held with ten teams at ten different sites. The first and last games will be played at the well-known Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Some of the other towns that will host the event are Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune. In addition to Hyderabad, practise games will be played in Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram. India and Pakistan are bitter rivals, so their match is without a question the most anticipated of all the matches on the schedule. On October 15, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, this much-anticipated match will take place.

The Indian team, led by captain Rohit Sharma, will start their season on Sunday, October 8, against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Chennai. On October 11, they will play Afghanistan in New Delhi. Pakistan, on the other hand, will face two qualifying teams in Hyderabad on October 6 and 12 before playing their biggest foes.

During the 2023 World Cup, India will play in nine of the ten stadiums, which shows how big of an influence they have. On the other hand, Pakistan’s games would only take place in five cities: Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad.

An interesting surprise emerges If India and Pakistan both make it to the semifinals,

The schedule was released on June 27. The first semi-final will be held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, and the second will be at the Eden Gardens. If both India and Pakistan make it to the semi-finals, it would be a very interesting surprise.

The Pakistan Cricket Board is worried about safety in Mumbai, so if Pakistan makes it to the semi-finals, the match will be played in Kolkata. If India gets to the semi-finals, they will play in Mumbai, unless they are drawn against Pakistan.

Also, the ICC has put two conditions on the schedule for the World Cup. No matter where the West Indies finish in the Qualifiers event, they will be called “Qualifier 1” if they make it. In the same way, Sri Lanka will be called “Qualifier 2” once they qualify, no matter how they do in the Qualifiers.
