India should not plan too far ahead and should only consider the England match: Sunil Gavaskar

Sunil Gavaskar, the World Cup winner leading the India team, gave the team advice to focus only on the match against the reigning champions and not to look ahead.

In the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, Team India has won each of their first five games. On Sunday, October 29, they will take the field once more in Lucknow to take on a battered England team.

All you want is to succeed. India should just concentrate on the upcoming game. Avoid planning too far ahead. If pursuing is your strategy for winning, stick with it. As of right now, don’t worry about the knockout stage. Consider the England national team. Avoid focusing on the future. The renowned batter stated, “The future will take care of itself,” in an exclusive interview with India Today.

England’s issue has been that they haven’t started well either when they bat or when they bowl: Sunil Gavaskar

England’s ODI World Cup 2023 campaign has been a nightmare thus far, as they have only won one match and lost four. All they have left is a mathematical chance to advance to the semifinals. One important reason for England’s poor results, according to Sunil Gavaskar, has been a lack of effective starts with both bat and ball.

England hasn’t had a good start to the game. None of the teams that are having trouble in this World Cup have had a successful beginning. The first ten overs had seen them lose a few wickets. In the middle overs, they don’t have a platform for their other hitters to enter and score runs. Gavaskar continued, “England’s issue has been that they haven’t started off well with the ball or the bat.

India can move closer to securing a semi-final ticket and regain the top spot on the points table with a victory on Sunday.
