The Mayank Agarwal-led team of India A increased their lead in the Duleep Trophy 2024 match between India C and India A on day two. India A finished the first day with a score of 224/7, Avesh Khan and Shashwat Rawat at the crease.
With just two more runs added to his overnight total, Rawat, the overnight centurion, was the first wicket to go as the day got underway. The southpaw finished his innings with 15 boundaries while scoring 124 off 250 balls. Khan and Prasidh Krishna were determined to stay at the crease for as long as possible, despite the best efforts of the India C bowlers to wrap up the tail. With a pivotal 42-run partnership, both hitters ensured that their team was getting closer to 300 runs.
Vijaykumar Vyshak’s outstanding delivery ended Krishna’s 34-run hammer. Concurrently, Gaurav Yadav delivered the ultimate blow to Aaqib Khan’s career by taking his wicket. Conversely, Avesh reached his half-century, hitting four sixes and five boundaries during his innings.
Vyshak was the main wrecker for India C, taking four wickets to go along with three from Anshul Kamboj and two from Yadav.
India C concludes Day 2 with a win.
Ruturaj Gaikwad & Co. didn’t have a good start as openers Gaikwad and Sai Sudharsan both left the game for 17 runs. Moreover, India C’s problems were exacerbated by the dismissal of Rajat Patidar, the number three, for a first-ball duck. Ishan Kishan, the wicketkeeper-batter who had just scored a century in the previous game, was out for five runs off of just eleven balls. India C was deeply in trouble when the top order collapsed early.
After that, Baba Indrajith and Abishek Porel seized charge of the situation to bring their team back into contention, forging an important 86-run partnership in the process. But Indrajith had to turn around because he was 34 years old and retired. Then, Manav Suthar quickly lost his wicket and scored just two more runs. Porel, meanwhile, completed his innings with a score of 82 after hitting a brilliant fifty.

Pulkit Narang’s cool-headed 35 off 93 balls provided the day a final gloss. He and Vyshak will bat together again on Day 3 in an attempt to cut the lead. With 216/7 at the end of Day 2, India C is behind by 81 runs. Aaqib Khan was excellent with the ball for India A, taking three vital wickets.
