I feel the Indian team is thinking about taking Mayank Yadav for the BGT: Aakash Chopra

I feel the Indian team is thinking about taking Mayank Yadav for the BGT: Aakash Chopra

With the ball being slammed all over the place, the just finished Twenty20 International series between India and Bangladesh was not short on action-packed cricket. It was a run-fest, with the bowlers at the mercy of the batsmen. Nevertheless, it was a fast paceman. Mayank Yadav was a difficult nut to crack after being given his debut at the beginning of the season. Even though he had claimed four wickets in three matches, he was setting records for consistent pace.

In a recent debate, former India opener Aakash Chopra noted how the Indian team’s think tank did not waste any time in giving Mayank a much-needed chance to experience some game time.

“Mayank Yadav should be brought up when discussing discoveries. He has been expedited. He joined the Indian squad right away despite having played very few first-class games. “He hadn’t played any competitive cricket since his injury recovery, and now he was playing for India,” Chopra said in a video posted on his own YouTube page.

In regards to the forthcoming series Down Under, Chopra continued to delve more into his thoughts about what he thought was in store for the Delhi-born star. But he was a little concerned that Mayank’s limited exposure to the country would impede his advancement in his career.

Due to his membership in the travelling reserves, he is unquestionably one of the major advantages. To keep him on the team, the Indian team may be considering taking him for the BGT, in my opinion. But given that first-class cricket’s repertory is still developing, I do think it might be a bit early. He can make a difference, so sometimes you just have to follow your instincts and say, “Let’s try,” Chopra said.

Aakash Chopra praises Mayank Yadav’s performance in the match against Bangladesh.

With regards to Mayank’s performances in the three T20Is, Chopra expressed his satisfaction that he was not only bowled out in each game but also received a brand-new ball in the third T20I, whereas in the first and second T20Is, he was the second and fourth substitute bowler, respectively.

“He is undoubtedly faster than everyone else. He participated in all three games, completed his allotted amount of bowling in each match, and also claimed wickets. Even in the most recent game, he received the fresh ball. It was fantastic because sometimes you get to bat with the new ball right away, and you go, ‘Oh God,’ when 25 runs are scored in the first over,” said Chopra.

Despite having recently returned from a lengthy absence owing to an abdominal injury, the former cricket player turned broadcaster was impressed by Mayank’s ability to settle into a groove.

“It wasn’t the case, yet you feel defeated. A maiden was his first over. In the previous encounter, he hit the batter for a wicket with a bouncer in the first delivery of the first over. At first, he was a little naughty.

He even said that because he had recovered from an injury, he was kind of holding himself back. “I sensed he was finding his rhythm in the previous game,” Chopra continued.
