During the T20 World Cup, India performed cricket in the ideal fashion: Brett Lee

India won the T20 World Cup in 2024 after defeating South Africa by seven runs. They were about to lose, but in the last five overs, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Arshdeep Singh rallied them to win the match and give India their second global championship in the shortest format of cricket.

Former cricket player Brett Lee praised the Indian team for their achievement and said that the Men in Blue performed flawlessly during the major competition, which took place in the USA and the West Indies.

India won the event without a loss thanks to the capable captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Lee expressed his admiration for India’s strength and praised Sharma for leading the squad from the front.

“India deserves a huge congratulations. First of all, it was great to witness them and the cricket players’ expressions of emotion. Since the game, Virat and Rohit have moved on. Australian cricket players were among those who hung up their boots. Thus, it served as a farewell concert for several international players, Lee told the Times of India.

“I will state that during the T20 World Cup, India played the ideal brand of cricket. To be perfectly honest, they appeared to be a formidable team. Huge congrats to the Indian squad and Rohit Sharma. He continued, “He led the tournament from the front.

India’s T20I captain would probably be Hardik Pandya following Rohit Sharma’s retirement.

Hardik Pandya is the clear favourite to take over as India’s T20I captain following Rohit Sharma’s retirement. The Gujarat Titans made it to the 2023 finals and won the IPL in 2022 under his leadership.

Although the squad announcement is still awaiting, the selectors have not confirmed that he will captain the team against Sri Lanka. Pandya is rumoured to have skipped the ODI series for private reasons as well. If the senior players choose to take a vacation, Shubman Gill or KL Rahul is probably going to take the lead.
