Captain Rohit Sharma stressed the importance of keeping a cool team environment and using clear thinking as India gets ready for their pivotal T20 World Cup semi-final matchup against England in Providence, Guyana, on June 27.
Rohit Sharma underlined that the semi-final should be treated like any other tournament game, even if everyone is aware of its importance and that it’s crucial to avoid being overly anxious about it.
The comment from him on the eve of the match was “See, we want to treat this game as another game that we have played in this tournament,” according to ESPN Cricinfo. “We don’t want to consider what is coming up, the game’s setting, or anything else like that. Everyone is aware that this is a semifinal in the back of their minds. However, you don’t want to bring up the subject repeatedly. Additionally, to avoid dwelling on the past.”
This match is a rematch of the 2022 semi-final, in which India lost badly to the same opposition in Adelaide by 10 wickets. Sharma thinks the team is in a good mindset despite the history.
