One of India’s worst enemies in recent years has been Travis Head. The Indian fans were devastated as the Australian opener crushed hundreds in the 2023 ODI World Cup final and the World Test Championship final. Head is presently playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season.
Travis Head expressed great love for the Indian cricketing culture when asked to give his thoughts on his relationship with Indian cricket fans. He also discussed his recent conflicts with the Men in Blue.
“I accept things as they are. I appreciate that India is such a large nation with such a large population. I’ve had the good fortune to do well in a few games. I suppose I play it up in a cheerful manner since it’s not in my nature. In terms of Australia vs. India, the outcome, or my performance, I find some of the things that are released amusing, but they no longer motivate me.
“I simply try to have fun and play well,” Travis Head told News 18.
“Over the past 18 months, I’ve faced India quite a few times and have been able to perform well, but they’ve also played well against us on a few occasions. I can sense that connection with the fans,” he continued.
After placing second in the previous season, the Sunrisers have not had a strong IPL 2025 campaign. The Orange Army defeated the Rajasthan Royals at home to begin their season. However, the Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Lucknow Super Giants have defeated them three times in a row. At the bottom of the points rankings right now are Pat Cummins and company. On Sunday, April 6, they will play again when they welcome the Gujarat Titans at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
