In advance of Cheteshwar Pujara 100th Test, Ravi Shastri compliments him, saying, "He's my soldier."

On Friday, February 17, Cheteshwar Pujara will participate in his 100th Test match for India. At Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy’s second test match will take place. Since December 2017, Delhi has not hosted a test match until now. The Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur hosted the first Test, which the home team won by an inning and 132 runs.

Ravi Shastri, a former India head coach, praised Cheteshwar Pujara profusely for playing in 100 Test matches. He referred to Cheteshwar Pujara as a “fighter” and promised to always treat him as a “soldier.” The top-order hitter, who made his Test debut in 2010, will be experiencing a momentous event in the second Test against Australia. The 35-year-old batsman participated in the Second Test, making him the 13th member of India’s 100-match Test squad.
“He is a warrior, as I proclaimed back then and as I still do today. He is my soldier, as I stated following the Gabba Test. He is a fighter. Pujara played a significant part if India was successful in making history by winning two series in Australia. Huge, “Cricbuzz was told by Shastri.

“He is a stealthy operator who, when called upon, is deadly. He is the epitome of a professional and has rendered heroic service to Indian cricket. I’d want to congratulate him on passing his 100th test “Added he.

The 60-year-old supported Pujara’s methodical approach, saying that his greatest asset is his persistence. As Rahul Dravid announced his retirement from baseball, the guy from Saurashtra was given the No. 3 batting spot. The former coach claimed that Cheteshwar Pujara has the ability to hold the top-order for India for such a long time in light of his commitment to Team India. He added that Pujara had acquired ownership of the property after Dravid left it.
In recognition of his historic 100th Test, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar and his teammates presented him with a guard of honour prior to the second Test.
