Tom Kohler-Cadmore, the Sharjah Warriorz’s opener, batted relentlessly and helped the team win on the final delivery of the match. “It is incredible to begin the tournament with a victory, and a close one at that,” he said. It was great to start with a start. We would have been devastated if we had messed that up. I wanted to take full responsibility for the final over. There have already been a few close games this season, and we expect more.
The Sharjah Warriorz had an amazing start to the ILT20 2025 after defeating the Gulf Giants by three wickets. In a very intriguing contest at the Dubai International Stadium, the Warriorz were bolstered by captain Tim Southee’s three wickets and Tom Kohler-Cadmore’s undefeated 83.
“We had a clear message, and that was to go out there and take the game on, and we did that from the beginning as well,” the England batsman said when talking about the attitude during the chase. It’s incredibly exciting to be a part of a team that can compete and has so much liberty. I think that JP Duminy and the other coaches have allowed us to express ourselves, which is why our team is so dynamic and has so much freedom.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore, the game’s MVP, hit four maximums and six boundaries in his innings.
In addition, he reported a few noteworthy captures. Captain Tim Southee said, “Tom Kohler-Cadmore’s batting performance tonight was outstanding,” referring to his player of the day. You can see how crucial it is to keep taking wickets with our potent batting lineup. On the plus side of this result, though, it felt terrific.
The England opener admits he likes playing cricket here as well, despite being used to it in the United Arab Emirates. He remarked, “I think Dubai and the UAE is an amazing place and the fans too are brilliant, as are the general conditions for us,” recalling his tour. Because of the incredible Sharjah Warriorz setup, visiting here is one of my favorite times of the year. That the competition isn’t a little bit longer is regrettable.
“All I want is to be able to go out and perform and win games for my team,” the hard-hitting right-hander stated. I just want to attempt to win games for my team every time I step onto the field.”
