What happens if India withdraws from the 2025 Champions Trophy?

“We shall follow the instructions of the Government of India on the Champions Trophy. We only dispatch our personnel when authorised by the Indian government. The Hindustan Times cited BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla as saying, “So we will go according to the decision of the Indian government.”

India has not travelled to Pakistan since 2013, and this situation might hold true for the Champions Trophy in 2025.

The fact that India and Pakistan have long been at odds over geopolitical concerns since their independence is not a secret. After Pakistan was accused of carrying out a serious terrorist attack in Mumbai in 2008, the situation worsened. he Indian government is also hesitant to send its players beyond the border, thus even the BCCI has not given the visit the go-ahead.

In the event that they withdraw, India must create room for Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka will take India’s place if Team India is determined not to visit the adjacent nation and the ICC forbids the use of a neutral venue.
