Tour of the ICC Men's World Cup Trophy enlightens Kuwait and Bahrain

Kuwait and Bahrain, August 19, 2023: The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 Trophy Tour carried on its amazing trip, bringing cricket fans in Kuwait and Bahrain together and spreading the sport’s pleasure. The recent stops on the trip in these Middle Eastern countries were distinguished by major unveilings, landmark sites, and jubilant fan activations, highlighting cricket’s appeal around the world and the anticipation for the ODI World Cup 2023.

The first day of the tour featured an exclusive invite-only event at Al-Hashemi-II, the biggest dhow ever constructed. Haider Farman, the president of the Kuwait Cricket Club (KCC), and Imran Khwaja, the deputy chair of the International Cricket Council (ICC), were among the renowned visitors present for the trophy’s unveiling.

Following the revelation, there were wonderful photo ops, signifying the beginning of a magical adventure. The trip went on to include a number of spectacular events at well-known Kuwaiti landmarks, including the Kuwait Towers, the Parliament, the Al Hamra Tower, and the Mall, the tallest structure in Kuwait.

The tour, which honored cricket’s imposing presence and widespread appeal, had the ideal backdrop thanks to these sites. At the Sulaibiya Cricket Ground, the Kuwait leg’s finale included an electric fan engagement event that drew almost 10,000 spectators. Numerous matches produced a carnival-like atmosphere, bringing together fans under the flag of cricket’s ebullient spirit.

The tour continued to Bahrain, where the Trophy stopped at the King Fahd Causeway, the World Trade Center, and Bahrain Bay, all of which serve as symbolic connections between goals. In addition to cricket greats like Imran Khwaja and Iqbal Sikander from the ICC, and other respected dignitaries, H.H. Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the evening’s important unveiling event.

The Trophy also paid a visit to the Bahrain International Exhibition Center, solidifying cricket’s position in Bahraini culture. The tour started out with a Trophy display at Dana Mall, which stoked interest in cricket even more. Fans had the opportunity to enjoy their passion of cricket against a breathtaking setting during the evening’s open bus excursion from the city to Bahrain International Circuit. The tour’s capacity to inspire joy and camaraderie was highlighted by the supporters’ evident delight as they posed with the Trophy.

As fans anxiously anticipate the spectacular spectacle of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, where nations will compete for cricket’s ultimate glory, the tour’s success in both Kuwait and Bahrain represents the international resonance of cricket.
