Reports say that the ICC will move the T20 World Cup from the USA and West Indies to England in 2024.

T20 World Cup
The T20 World Cup 2024 is supposed to take place in the West Indies and the USA. However, the USA isn’t ready for the event, so it might be moved to a different place. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is having to rethink their plans because the infrastructure in the US is not yet ready for the big event.

With only 12 months left until the tournament, the USA needs to meet the infrastructure standards set by the ICC in order to host the tournament. This seems like a hard job right now. Reports say that the ICC could ask England to host the big event. In November 2021, the ICC announced that England, Ireland, and Scotland would be in charge of holding the T20 World Cup in 2030.

Reports say that England is most likely to be asked to switch places with the West Indies and the USA because cricket stops in most parts of the world in June. The ICC is thinking about letting England, Ireland, and Scotland host the 2024 tournament and then giving the hosting rights back to the West Indies and the USA for the 2030 tournament. This will give the US enough time to get ready for the big ICC game.

“There is something going on. The state of infrastructure in the US isn’t very good right now, and it’s possible that the ICC will switch the countries that will host the event in 2024 and 2030. It will also give USA Cricket time to fix up their facilities before 2030 and get their house in order. Right now, getting the places ready will have to be done quickly. “The 2030 World Cup was already given to England, and unlike other countries, they can host an event in June or July,” a source told News18.

The US has two reasons that are in line with foreign standards.
Only two venues in the US, Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill, Florida, and Moosa Stadium in Pearland, Texas, meet international standards and have ODI status. Twelve ODIs between only associate countries have been played at Moosa Stadium. On the other hand, India, the West Indies, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka have all played in 14 T20Is at Central Broward Regional Park.
