The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 has just one week till the first ball is played, and the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the list of Event Ambassadors who will enhance the spectator experience.
The all-star team, which also includes two-time winner Shane Watson of Australia, Player of the Series Shikhar Dhawan of India’s 2013 trophy-winning effort, and New Zealand’s great fast bowler Tim Southee, includes Pakistan’s 2017 winning skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed.
With a wealth of Champions Trophy experience, the lineup will give fans unparalleled access to the competition through guest columns and match attendance over the next few weeks. They will share their thoughts on what is sure to be an exciting event in which the top eight teams in the world will compete for the coveted white jackets.
Sarfaraz Ahmed: “I will always remember the moment I wore the white jackets and raised the trophy in the air as captain of Pakistan in 2017.” I also have a strong desire to see the country support us and celebrate our accomplishments, so I’m thrilled to see the competition return to the cricket calendar and to see my nation given the chance to host such a unique event.
Because of the format, each game is crucial, and I am eager to fulfil my role as an Ambassador and watch the competition in person.
“Being a part of a Champions Trophy is such a special feeling, and it is an honour to be given the opportunity to enjoy the upcoming edition as an Ambassador,” Shikhar Dhawan said.
Knowing that one error or one defeat may be the end of their dreams, we’ll witness the world’s top teams vying for the white jackets over the course of the coming weeks. It’s the most competitive event with everything on the line, which is why it’s such an exciting show.
Tim Southee: “I am pleased to serve as an ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 Ambassador.
I always had a great time acting in it, and it never fails to provide drama and amusement.
As a player, you know that every match, every ball, and every second counts in the Champions Trophy format. With so much on the line, I’m excited to watch how it all plays out.
Shane Watson: “Over the years, the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy has given us a lot of memorable experiences. It is a truly unique event.”
“We will witness some incredible do-or-die cricket over three exciting weeks as the top eight teams compete for the coveted white jackets.”
