ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025: All squads

The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 is just one week away, and each country has confirmed their team and announced the players who will compete in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.

Before the action starts, the following is a complete list of the confirmed squads that will be present:

Group A

Bangladesh

BANGLADESH CRICKET TEAM CROP 2

Bangladesh, who placed in the semifinals of the most recent ICC Men’s Champions Trophy in 2017, will try to advance this time under skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto.

In a team that includes some talented young players and the extensive experience of Mahmadullah and Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al-Hasan and Litton Das have been left out.

Bangladesh’s quickest bowler, Nahid Rana, routinely reaches speeds of over 150 kph. Rishad Hossain, on his ODI debut, hit the first ball he faced for a six and his first T20I scoring shot was a six. At the age of 22, both athletes intend to make a significant impact.

Bangladesh: Nazmul Hossain Shanto (c), Soumya Sarkar, Tanzid Hasan, Tawhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammad Mahmudullah, Jaker Ali Anik, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Parvez Hossai Emon, Nasum Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Nahid Rana.

India

Virat Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma are among the eight players in India’s side that helped them win the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, the most recent ICC global event.

Due to a late withdrawal from a back injury, they are without their key pacer Jasprit Bumrah. Harshit Rana, 22, who made his ODI debut against England earlier this year and claimed 19 wickets to help the Kolkata Knight Riders win the IPL last year, has taken his position.

India’s seam arsenal also includes Mohammed Shami, who finished as the tournament’s top wicket-taker with 24 at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

India: Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Varun Chakaravarthy.

New Zealand

Mitchell Santer, who will be leading a team and attack that includes some new players, will captain the Black Caps for the first time at an ICC event.

Tim Southee and Trent Boult have resigned, while Will O’Rourke, Nathan Smith, and Ben Sears are among those looking for chances to make an impression. They will be vying for slots against the more seasoned Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson.

With 578 runs at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, Kane Williamson, Devon Conway, and Rachin Ravindra lead an accomplished batting lineup.

New Zealand: Mitchell Santner (c), Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Tom Latham, Daryl Mitchell, Will O’Rourke, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Ben Sears, Nathan Smith, Kane Williamson, Will Young.

Pakistan

Pak2023 1

As they try to repeat, the 2017 winners, Pakistan, can call upon some of their stars from that event.

Along with Faheem Ashraf, they also include Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman, who made a century in the final eight years ago.

Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf spearhead the pace attack, while Mohammad Rizwan serves as captain. Rising sensation Saim Ayub is out due to injury.

Pakistan: Mohammad Rizwan (c), Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel, Tayyab Tahir, Faheem Ashraf, Khushdil Shah, Salman Ali Agha, Usman Khan, Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Group B

Afghanistan

After spinner AM Ghazanfar was sidelined due to a back ailment, Afghanistan had to make a last-minute roster alteration, calling up 20-year-old left-armer Nangyal Kharoti.

Rashid Khan, who set a record at the time by taking 100 ODI wickets in just 43 games, is included despite the absence of important spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

A batting lineup that also includes Rahmanallah Gurbaz, who amassed 280 runs in the same competition, is strengthened by Ibrahim Zadran, who hit a game-winning 87 against Pakistan in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 and then went on to hit an undefeated 129 against Australia.

Afghanistan: Hashmatullah Shahidi (c), Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Sediqullah Atal, Rahmat Shah, Ikram Alikhil, Gulbadin Naib, Azmatullah Omarzai, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Nangyal Kharoti, Noor Ahmad, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Farid Malik, Naveed Zadran.

Australia

Australia Team 1

Australia is missing a number of well-known players, including Marcus Stoinis, who has retired from ODI cricket, Pat Cummins (ankle), Josh Hazelwood (hip), Mitchell Marsh (back), and Mitchell Starc (personal reasons).

While spinner Tanveer Sangha will provide support for Adam Zampa, Aaron Hardie, Sean Abbott, Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Ellis, and Spencer Johnson will cover the seam deficit.

Travis Head, who produced an incredible 137 in Australia’s victory over India in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 final, will be a key member of the batting lineup with Steve Smith, who heads the team in Cummins’ absence.

Australia: Steve Smith (c), Sean Abbott, Alex Carey, Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Ellis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Aaron Hardie, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Spencer Johnson, Marnus Labuschagne, Glenn Maxwell, Tanveer Sangha, Matthew Short, Adam Zampa.

England

Jos Buttler’s England team has added Tom Banton to their roster of fifteen players. The injured Jacob Bethell is replaced by the 26-year-old, who recently scored two ILT20 hundreds in the United Arab Emirates.

Joe Root is another member of the team; he hasn’t played in the 50-over format since the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. Although Buttler, Adil Rashid, and Mark Wood have all participated in the competition before, he will be playing in his third ICC Men’s Champions Trophy.

Speed merchant Jofra Archer is included, as are Surrey duo Gus Atkinson and Jamie Smith, who both had outstanding Test debuts in 2024.

England: Jos Buttler (c), Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Tom Banton, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Ben Duckett, Jamie Overton, Jamie Smith, Liam Livingstone, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Saqib Mahmood, Phil Salt, Mark Wood.

South Africa

Anrich Nortje’s withdrawal from the Proteas owing to a back injury was a late injury setback; Corbin Bosch was picked as his substitute.

With Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram, David Miller, and Heinrich Klaasen forming a formidable middle order, Temba Bavuma, the captain, is slated to open, with Ryan Rickelton and Tony de Zorzi vying for his companionship.

With Tabraiz Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj providing spin options, Kagiso Rabada spearheads the pace onslaught.

South Africa: Temba Bavuma (c), Tony de Zorzi, Marco Jansen, Heinrich Klaasen, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Wiaan Mulder, Lungi Ngidi, Kagiso Rabada, Ryan Rickelton, Tabraiz Shamsi, Tristan Stubbs, Rassie van der Dussen, Corbin Bosch.
