ICC gives historic Men's T20 World Cup 2024 the most money

In addition to taking home the trophy, which they will raise at Kensington Oval in Barbados on June 29, the champions of the ninth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will receive at least $2.45 million in prize money, the largest payout in the competition’s history.

From the historic total prize fund of $11.25 million, the losing semi-finalists will take home $787,500 each, while the runners-up will receive at least $1.28 million.

The nine, ten, eleven, and twelve-place teams will split $247,500 each, while the four teams who do not advance past the Super 8s will split $382,500 apiece. The top 20 finishers will receive a reimbursement of $225,000.

Additionally, any club that wins a game, excluding the semifinals and championship, gets an extra $31,154. This ICC T20 World Cup is the largest ever, with 55 matches spread over 28 days and nine sites in the USA and the West Indies.

Under the current tournament structure, forty first-round matches will be played before the top eight advance to the Super 8s. Following that, four teams will advance to the semi-finals, which will take place in Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago. The 2024 men’s champions will be crowned in Barbados following the final.

“It is fitting that the prize money for players reflects that this event is historic in so many ways,” stated ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice. We hope this will be an Out of This World event, with the players entertaining hundreds of millions of fans worldwide.

Three of the tournament’s matches have already been completed during the group round. June 19 is when the ICC tournament’s Super 8 stage is scheduled to begin.
