ICC Chair meets with IOC President to discuss key LA 2028 plans for cricket

This week, ICC Chair Jay Shah attended a LA 2028 International Federations seminar in the Olympic House in Lausanne, Switzerland, where he met with IOC President Thomas Bach and other top IOC officials.

The conference, which focused on important areas of cooperation between the ICC and the IOC in the lead-up to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, was attended by ICC Chair and ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice.

Shah and Bach met for the first time, and they discussed ways to work together to promote the Olympic ideals of friendship, respect, and excellence in the cricket community.

According to the ICC, cricket is in a great position to interact with both new and existing fans in the lead-up to the 2028 Summer Olympics,

Opening the door for possible future partnerships with the Olympic movement that will benefit athletes, supporters, and the international sports community.

It was a fruitful meeting and a significant turning point on the path to LA 2028, and we were thrilled to meet with Thomas Bach and IOC representatives. Cricket’s participation in the Olympic Games marks a turning point for our game and a genuine chance for revolutionary development in 2028 and beyond.

We continued to strengthen our bonds with our friends within the Olympic movement while talking about a variety of important topics. “We are excited to work with the IOC and LA 2028 over the next three and a half years,” ICC Chair Jay Shah stated.
