The International Cricket Council (ICC) is extremely grieved and disgusted by their murders. Kabeer Agha, Sibghatullah, and Haroon are three young and talented Afghan cricket players who were tragically killed in a recent airstrike in the Paktika province of Afghanistan.
Following their participation in a friendly cricket match, the three young men had returned home when they were killed in an attack that also ended the lives of many civilians. Three talented individuals whose only goal in life was to play cricket have been taken from their families, communities, and the cricket community by this act of violence, which the ICC firmly condemns.
The ICC shares their sorrow and stands with the Afghanistan Cricket Board.
Furthermore, Kabeer Agha, Sibghatullah, and Haroon, three young Afghan cricket players, lost their lives in the barbaric cross-border airstrikes in Paktika province. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also conveyed its profound sadness and condolences for their loss.
In light of this horrific and unjustified act, the BCCI expresses its condolences to the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), the cricket community, and the families of the players who have died. Innocent deaths are always upsetting and distressing, especially when they involve talented athletes. The Afghan people have our deepest sympathies and we share their sorrow and loss, the BCCI says.
