Rishabh Pant, a famous Indian wicketkeeper, is recuperating from injuries sustained in a car accident in December of last year. After undergoing significant surgery in May 2023, Pant has resumed playing in the field and maintaining wicket. He is currently exercising properly, according to the most recent BCCI medical assessment.
After skipping this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL), it appears that the 25-year-old Pant will also skip the 2023 ODI World Cup. When asked about Pant’s recovery, seasoned Indian pacer Ishant Sharma said that the left-handed batter still needed to heal more and might miss the IPL the next year.

“I believe Rishabh Pant won’t play in the upcoming IPL as well because the ailment is not minor. It was a tragic accident.It will be challenging for both a batter and a wicketkeeper to run and turn after many things because he just started playing both batting and wicketkeeping.
“He avoided needing a second surgery, which is good. He would have missed even more time if he had needed a second operation. Even though he has had one operation so far, I doubt he will be ready for the World Cup. Hopefully, he will be in terrific shape for the IPL,” he continued.
For the Delhi Capitals (DC) and the Men in Blue, Pant’s recovery is essential. In IPL 2023, David Warner took over as the team’s captain while he was away, and DC’s team ultimately finished in the bottom two spots. On the Indian side, Pant’s position has been more or less filled by Ishan Kishan in limited-overs cricket, but there is still a difficulty with finding a replacement for him in Test cricket.
The Indian management is looking ahead with Kishan in all forms, particularly after the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 setback, as KS Bharat was discarded and did not get a pick for either Test of the West Indies (WI) visit. In the WI series’ second Test, the Rohit Sharma-led team had been bowled out for 438 runs after winning the first match, while WI was on 229/5 at the time of day three’s final shot.
