Abhishek Sharma was selected by Suresh Raina as the batter who might emulate his reckless style of play in the current Indian squad. The former cricket player for India became the first player to score hundreds for the Men in Blue in all three formats during an international match. In addition, he scored a lot of runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and was instrumental in the Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) five championship victories.
In contrast, Abhishek had an amazing IPL 2024 campaign, hitting boundaries for pleasure against some of the best bowlers in the world. After earning a position in the Indian T20 team, he scored his first international century in just two games. Since then, Abhishek has used his extremely forceful willow technique to play some captivating knocks.
Suresh Raina acknowledged that he enjoys watching Abhishek bat and said that the renowned Yuvraj Singh is the Punjab all-rounder’s guru.

In addition to Abhishek, Suresh Raina selected two other left-handed batsmen who may contribute to the nation’s success: Priyansh Arya and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Raina lauded Yashasvi’s game awareness and stated the Mumbai hitter has a strong will to succeed.
“Priyansh Arya has the potential to be a very dominant player, in my opinion. But I think Yashasvi Jaiswal has a different approach to work. There is a sense of perseverance. In England and Australia, he scored a hundred. “He has excellent game awareness,” Suresh Raina said.
Priyansh Arya has not yet received his first call-up to the Indian team. He did, however, make an impression as a batsman for the Punjab Kings in the 2025 Indian Premier League, scoring 475 runs at a strike rate of 179.25 in 17 innings. Yashasvi, however, just missed out on a position in India’s Asia Cup team, where Abhishek Sharma is anticipated to open the batting alongside Shubman Gill or Sanju Samson.
