When I was younger, I looked up to Rohit Sharma: Harmeet Singh, a USA all-round player

All-rounder Harmeet Singh of the USA has talked about how much he admires Rohit Sharma and how eager he is to reunite with his former India Under-19 colleagues. He disclosed that, at the time of his admission, Rohit had recently graduated from the same school as him. Notably, Rohit and Harmeet played together at the Under-19 level and he was a part of Harmeet’s first-class debut game.

“I used to look up to Rohit Sharma when I was younger.

Rohit attends my school, and he had just received his diploma when I started. He competed in the under-19 World Cup a few tournaments before me, and we made our first class debut together. The sight of someone from a Mumbai neighbourhood taking the globe by storm was very inspiring.

When Rohit started that in the suburbs, we all followed. In Bombay, it was all about the cricketers and schools beyond Bandra. I have also played under-19 India with Sanju, Axar, and Kuldeep. Catching up with them and competing against them will be enjoyable,” he said to Star Sports.

Following a game-winning display against Pakistan in the United States’ historic victory, bowler Saurabh Netravalkar of the United States discussed his relationship with Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav, claiming that they are “close friends.” Netravalkar continued, saying that while they were both playing cricket for Mumbai, they spent time together at the age-level.

Actually, I’ve been close friends with Suryakumar. We kind of grew up playing for Mumbai together; I’ve known him from our under-15 days. In under-15 and under-17 competitions, he consistently scored double hundreds and other noteworthy totals. He exuded flare, so we knew he would accomplish something exceptional. Though it was later than I thought, I’m thrilled that he was able to represent India.

I’m eager to play against him as well as a number of the individuals we played with, so I’m excited to see him. We’ll see how it goes. I don’t know how to get Surya out, so I suppose I’ll simply attempt to fulfil my responsibilities and the team’s needs. Netravalkar remarked.

The captain of the Indian-born USA squad, Monank Patel, spoke about his relationship to the all-rounder Axar Patel of India, with whom he played at the under-15 and under-19 levels.

“In under-19 and under-15 games, I have participated alongside Axar and Bumrah. Axar and I both hail from the same town. There are certainly a lot of young people from that small community that he has inspired and driven. Their growth and improved cricket skills make me delighted.”

I harbour some sentimental feelings for Bumrah: Corey Anderson

Additionally, Corey Anderson discussed how eager he is to play Jasprit Bumrah, his former teammate from the Mumbai Indians, in a new video. Bumrah has been playing at his devastating best, winning games back-to-back and claiming two Player of the Match honours in as many games. Regarding Anderson, the all-round player hasn’t had an opportunity to make a significant impact on either of the USA’s victories thus far.

“I harbour some sentimental feelings for Bumrah. Watching him go from this raw natural talent to one of the best bowlers in the world has been incredible. I believe I was at Mumbai when he was initially introduced to MI. Seeing that progression is interesting because it allows you to observe the topics they discuss in the beginning of their professions as well as how they acquire experience.

Seeing him realise his full potential is amazing. He can cause some major harm, thus it goes without saying that we will encounter him. I believe facing him will be quite interesting as well.”
