Speaking about how he approaches captaincy, Rajat Patidar said he tries to concentrate on his strong points and avoid taking on more work because of the leadership role. Patidar has had a seamless transition to captaincy and has shown promise thus far, winning three of his five games in that role.
In keeping with their status as a carbon-neutral team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru will wear their special green jersey to raise awareness of the environment during their match against the Rajasthan Royals on April 13 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Captain Rajat Patidar spoke to the media prior to the match.
“When I’m on the pitch, I view myself as captain, but I don’t feel the pressure of captaincy when I’m batting. I avoid feeling like I have to do something different just because I am the team leader and instead concentrate on my strengths with the bat. On the eve of the match against the Rajasthan Royals, Patidar told media, “Even in domestic cricket, I try to stay in the moment and do my best for the team.”
Although RCB has yet to figure out how to win at home, they have won six points in away games against the Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Mumbai Indians. Both of RCB’s defeats, to the Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans, have occurred at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium. When asked about the location, Patidar stated that the team’s goal is to perform to the best of its abilities and that he doesn’t care where his players play.
We play each game as it comes. We try to maximise it if everyone feels confident. We’ll concentrate on playing quality cricket rather than the location. Wearing the green jersey adds even more excitement and specialness to the game, which is special for us because of our green project.
With two victories and three defeats in five games, the Rajasthan Royals are now in seventh place in the points table, while RCB is in fifth.
