Prior to the 2019 season, Royal Challengers Bangalore released Harshal Patel following a dismal year with the ball in the IPL 2023. After paying INR 11.75 crore at auction for the pacer, Punjab King has been the subject of much debate on whether the player is being overpaid following a disappointing season. Speaking about the same subject, former South African captain AB de Villiers claimed that Harshal Patel is not overpriced because he is an excellent T20 cricketer.
Because the weather in Mohali and Dharamsala is far better than in Bengaluru, the 39-year-old thinks Harshal will prosper there.
He also mentioned how Harshal Patel has some very lethal bouncers in his ranks and that he is excellent with slower balls.
