The Pakistan vs. New Zealand ODI series came to a close when the visitors won the final match to salvage their prestige after losing the series. Pakistan won the series 4-1 by winning the first four One-Day Internationals (ODIs) on home soil. Tom Lathan and Will Young produced outstanding performances with the bat, and Henry Shipley wrought havoc with the ball as New Zealand prevailed in the final match by 47 runs.

Regarding the same topic, Pakistani batsman Iftikhar Ahmad took to Twitter to express regret that the host team was unsuccessful. Ahmad, who played a crucial role in Pakistan’s final-game pursuit, stated that they should have ended on the winning side but were unable to. However, he stated that he is appreciative to be back in the ODI arena and is relishing his cricket.

“I am apologetic to Pakistan. We ought to have won the match, but fate had other plans. Nevertheless, I am appreciative of the return to the ODI arena and relishing my cricket. #IftiMania,” Ahmad tweeted.

In the final game, when Pakistan batted second, Ahmad scored 94 runs off 72 balls and remained unbeaten until the conclusion. However, he received no assistance from the other end, and the home team lost the match with 252 runs in the 47th over.

Young’s 87 at the top of the order and captain Latham’s 59 in the middle proved to be crucial as New Zealand set a challenging target of 300 runs while batting first. Shaheen Afridi, Henry Shipley, and Rachin Ravindra of the visiting team each took three wickets during the game. Previously, the two teams also competed in a five-match T20I series that resulted in a 2-2 draw.
