In the Buchi Babu Tournament 2024, Hyderabad defeated Chattishgarh

In 2024, Hyderabad won the Buchi Babu Tournament with a 243-run victory over Chattisgarh. In both areas, the Rahul Singh-led team easily defeated Chattisgarh to win the championship. Interestingly, Hyderabad scored 417 runs when they batted first. While Rohith Rayudu played a crucial innings of 155 runs, opener Abhirath M scored 85 runs.

The fact that Chhattisgarh was unable to overcome him may have ultimately determined the outcome. Rahul Radesh, the keeper-batter, contributed as well. Aniketh Reddy, the last man, scored 29* while he scored 48 runs. Gagandeep Singh, Jeevesh Butte, Vasudev Bareth, and Shashank Tiwari all took two wickets apiece for Chattisgarh. In the end, it proved costly because they lacked bowling experience.

Rohith and Tanay Thyagarajan each took three wickets, while Aniketh claimed four. With the exception of Gagandeep Singh’s half-century, no batter could rise to challenge Hyderabad’s bowling attack, leaving the Amandeep Khare-led team helpless. It didn’t help them either that two of their first five batters scored in single digits.

Hyderabad got 181 runs by bundling Chattisgarh in the second innings.

Rahul, the captain, scored 68 runs during a crucial third-inning knock. He took the lead even though it was a difficult surface to bat on. Keeper-batter Rahul once again contributed nicely with his 41-run performance as Hyderabad posted 281 runs in the second innings. For Chattishgarh, Jeevesh created havoc, taking up six wickets. The situation might have been different only if he had performed this well in the first innings.

Chhattisgarh were determined not to give up, even though they had to chase 517 runs in the last innings. Ayush Pandey and Shashank Chandrakar opened the scoring with 117 and 50, respectively, but the middle order collapsed, allowing Hyderabad to win handily. Tanay Thyagarajan finished with five for 117, and Aniketh added two more runs in the fourth innings to complete the victory.

It’s encouraging for us in advance of the season: Rahul Singh

Rahul Radesh, the captain, believes that they would have a lot of confidence after the victory when they return to Elite Group for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season. In addition, he praised his team for demonstrating resiliency in the face of setbacks during the games. He also gave his team credit for playing with aggression the entire competition.

“Throughout the entire tournament, we played aggressive cricket as per our desire. We faced some tough opponents here, but we also did that in the Plate group last year, which was a little easier. Rahul was reported by SportStar as saying, “So that is a good sign for us ahead of the season.”

“After giving up the lead in the semifinal matchup with TN, we found ourselves trailing, but we recovered.” The captain said, “We have to come back from behind because you may encounter similar circumstances in the Ranji Trophy and you must win such games.
