James Anderson, a former cricket player for England, will be playing for Manchester Originals in the next Hundred. The Originals grabbed him as one of their two wildcard selections before to the white-ball extravaganza. This is Anderson’s first time participating in the competition.
The renowned former English seamer will become the second-oldest player in The Hundred’s history, after Imran Tahir, if he plays for the Originals. When the former South African cricket player last played in 2022, he was 43 years and 149 days old.
In the current Vitality Blast installment, Anderson is playing for Lancashire. In the eight games they have already played, he has been playing well.
James Anderson has taken 14 wickets overall at a remarkable 7.75 economy rate.
To further discuss the draughted players, each club has the opportunity to bolster their rosters by selecting two men’s and women’s players in the Vitality Wildcard Draft for The Hundred and The Women’s Hundred, respectively. The goal is to give the unselected platers a very alluring opportunity to demonstrate their abilities and earn a spot in the running for the first three months of the English domestic cricket season.
Previously, James Anderson had been passed over at the initial draft in March. By 11 a.m. (BST) on Tuesday, July 15, all 32 Vitality Wildcard picks (16 for each of the eight teams competing in the men’s and women’s divisions) should be available.
In 2015, the veteran player made his final appearance for England in a white-ball match. From 2015 to 2024, he focused exclusively on the red-ball format, and by then, his exceptional ball abilities had allowed him to become an expert in Test cricket. In the end, Anderson became a Test cricket icon. He had an outstanding international career, with 991 wickets overall.
James Anderson had previously signed up for the Indian Premier League 2025 auction as well, but the seasoned veteran’s plans did not work out. Despite being on the shortlist, his name did not attract any bidders prior to the season in which RCB won.
