The highly regarded Australian skipper Pat Cummins is preparing to travel to the United States for the forthcoming Major League Cricket season. Cummins made almost INR 1.8 crore per match in the most recent season of the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024, whereas an average participant in the event may earn up to INR 2.5 crore for seven matches and two finals.
The San Francisco Unicorns, led by businessmen Anand Rajaraman and Venky Harinarayan, have come out as major supporters of the Australian skipper, Pat Cummins, and have recruited him for the 2018 MLC season.

After his playing days are over, Rajaraman told the Sydney Morning Herald that he is considering his career options beyond cricket and is considering how to do innovative things at the junction of technology and cricket.

It should be noted that Washington Freedom has the support of Cummins’ home state of New South Wales, whereas Unicorns have the backing of Cricket Victoria. The deal was made feasible since Pat’s arrival at San Francisco Unicorns offers a door to Silicon Valley for Rajaraman and Harinarayan. Nick Cummins, chief executive officer of Cricket Victoria, made it clear that Cummins does not desire further opportunities to play cricket.
