With the world's largest cricket stadium as a home venue, Gujarat Titans' ticket sales increase.

The Gujarat Titans (GT) made IPL 2022 history by becoming the second team to win the tournament in its inaugural season. The team led by Hardik Pandya defeated the Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets to win the championship in their first attempt.

Gujarat Titans are once again having a phenomenal season in the IPL 2023, as they topped the standings with 20 points and have a chance to advance to their second consecutive final if they defeat Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2.

As a result of their phenomenal performance in the first two seasons, Gujarat have amassed a vast fan base throughout India, as their supporters pack the stadiums wherever they travel to play. Notably, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which is GT’s home ground, is the largest cricket stadium in the globe in terms of capacity.

Since the current edition of the IPL is being played in the home and away format for the first time in three years, according to a report in Moneycontrol, Gujarat have played seven matches at home and enjoyed a great deal of support, resulting in a significant profit from ticket sales.

The Narendra Modi Stadium has a capacity of 1,32,000, making it the largest cricket stadium in the world. Both Qualifier 2 and the final are scheduled to take place at Narendra Modi Stadium, giving the Titans the opportunity to play two more matches at their home ground. Recently, GT’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Arvinder Singh, discussed the revenue generated by ticket sales.

Moneycontrol cited GT’s chief operating officer (COO), Arvinder Singh, as saying that nearly 40 percent of the company’s revenue came from ticket sales.

Notably, CVC Capital, a French private equity firm, owns the franchise. Approximately twenty percent of IPL franchisees’ aggregate revenue is comprised of ticket sales, merchandise, and food and beverages.

In 2022, Qualifier 2 and the final were conducted at the Narendra Modi Stadium for the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League. The attendance for the IPL 2022 final between the Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans at the stadium set a Guinness World Record.

Within four days of going on sale, all tickets for the inaugural game of the 2023 season against the Chennai Super Kings were sold out due to the fervor of the home team’s supporters. 63,000 tickets out of a total of 75,000 were sold online, while the remainder were sold offline.

We took numerous steps to increase stadium attendance: Arvinder Singh

“We took numerous steps to attract more fans to stadiums, including increasing metro frequency.” There are 34 parking spaces at the stadium, so 100 shuttles were run between the stadium and the parking lot. Even in hospitality sections, we utilized golf carts, said Singh.

Additionally, the CSK vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore match on April 17 attracted 2.4 crore concurrent viewers, which was more than the 2.5 crore concurrent viewers for the CSK vs. Gujarat Tigers Qualifier 1 on digital. High digital viewership and the remarkable increase in the value of media rights are causing franchise revenue growth to accelerate.

Gujarat Titans is currently ranked third in terms of revenue among IPL franchises, according to COO Arvinder Singh, who added that the team will endeavor to keep its supporters engaged during the offseason as well.

“The team’s revenue is 38 percent higher this year than it was last year, and we are currently ranked third among the nine IPL franchises in terms of revenue.” We do not wish to be a franchise that is only relevant for four months out of the year. In July and August, you will see additional developments from us,” Singh explained.
