The 'Home of Cricket' is illuminated by Dan Mousley's amazing catch

The Hundred 2024 promises to deliver tremendous cricket action for the fans. On July 27, Adam Rossington of London Spirit was dismissed by Birmingham Phoenix’s Dan Mousley with a superb catch.

Rossington attempted to find a top edge that nearly cleared the boundary ropes with a flick shot off Sean Abbott in the twenty-third ball of the opening innings.

Dan Mousley took the ball at deep square leg, staying focused on it as he took it on the boundary line.

He felt compelled toss the ball into the air and leave the field of play since he was unable to stop his speed. The 23-year-old sprinted back onto the pitch and dove headfirst to capture the ball just inches above the ground with both hands.

Before the delivery, Tom Milne was stationed at short fine-leg, and he also hurried to take the catch. He nearly had a horrific collision with Mousley when he dove to catch the ball. But because to an exuberant Mousley’s ball-kicking celebration of his superb fielding performance, neither player was hurt. Following the child’s athletic endeavour, spectators in the stadium were in shock.

As the London Brave were limited to 127/7 in the opening innings, Abbott went on to claim a four-for. With an undefeated 37 off just 20 balls, Andre Russell was the first innings’ leading scorer. Birmingham’s response was less than spectacular, as they lost their first four wickets for a total of twenty runs.

But a 69-run standoff between Dan Mousley and Jacob Bethell off 52 balls allowed Birmingham to get back into the game. With three wickets and one ball remaining, Benny Howell and Abbott ultimately led the pursuing team home.
