No way that I am going to stand here and critique Sanju Samson's play of the short ball: Kevin Pietersen

In the five-match T20I series versus England, the Indian team is currently ahead 2-1 with two games remaining, which will be played in Pune and Mumbai, respectively.

The Indian team has received a lot of criticism following their defeat in the third Twenty20 International in Rajkot. Sanju Samson is one of the players who has received a lot of criticism for his shortcomings in this series. In the three games he has played, he has only scored 34 runs at an average of 11.33 and has a strike rate of 103.3. His short ball technique is being criticized by experts. Instead, the wicketkeeper-batter’s technique was commended by former English cricketer Kevin Pietersen, who said that incidents like these occur during play.

“I believe he is sound intellectually. As a batter, I think Sanju Samson is great.

I genuinely adore him. The fact that he hasn’t played a more regular role in recent years shocked me a little. Listen, these things do happen, but yes, he has a game here at the top of the order. According to Pietersen, who was cited by India Today, “in the shortest version of the game, things happen so quickly.”

I’d definitely have a look at it and begin to doubt his technique if he continues to do it for the next six weeks or for the next few months. However, I believe he is an amazing player. In my opinion, he is a very reliable player who excels at playing the short ball. Therefore, I will not stand here and criticize his short ball performance from that vantage point,” Pietersen continued.

In relation to the series, India’s next match is scheduled for Friday, January 31 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. While the Indian team hopes to win the match and win another series at home, the England team will face another game that might mean the difference between life and death.
