Franchise for the Indian Premier League Hemang Badani will be the head coach of the Delhi Capitals, and Venugopal Rao, who played for the Dallas Daredevils from 2011 to 2013, will be the director of cricket. A contract for the upcoming Indian Premier League seasons has been offered to the support staff, who will be led by the two former India cricket players.
The two had played together in the Chennai League before for MRF. The franchise’s subsidiaries, the Seattle Orcas in the MLC and the Dubai Capitals in the ILT20, have also been participating. One of the primary reasons the management chose to choose the aforementioned individuals is said to be their strong collaboration and relationship with one another.

Along with maintaining a low-key media presence, it is also believed that the higher-ups have deliberately chosen not to go with big names in order to avoid burdening the coaching staff and players equally. Rao has played just 16 ODIs for India, compared to Badani’s 40 ODIs and four Test matches. In addition to his time with the Delhi-based team, Rao has played for the Deccan Chargers and Sunrisers Hyderabad, while Badani has only played for the Chennai Super Kings for one season.
It’s unclear if Rishabh Pant will stay with the franchise.
In the meantime, Rishabh Pant, the Capitals’ star batsman and wicketkeeper who has been with the team since his 2016 debut in the lucrative league, recently posted a tweet on X that caused quite a stir among cricket fans regarding his future with the team.

It is unclear what the management’s position on its captain will be, as the franchises have until October 31 to complete their retentions. Although there are rumors that Pant is not moving forward, it is impossible to predict with certainty if this would be the case.
