Does SRH rely too much on the pair? Heinrich Klaasen, a wicketkeeper-batter, most definitely does not.
On Thursday, March 27, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lost to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Hyderabad by a margin of five wickets, their first defeat of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The collaboration between Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma has been essential in SRH’s earlier successes. But against LSG, the pair only managed to put on 15 off 13.
“Not at all. Our hitting lineup shows that we are effective up until batter No. 8. Travis and Abhishek don’t have to always come off. At the news conference following the game, Klaasen stated, “We’re good enough to score without them as well.”
“They make our work easier and put pressure on teams when they leave. There will never be a season in which they both score over 1000 runs. It’s a little riskier in the way we play. However, no. We have significant enough players to understand that we must also work alone.
In the end, SRH only reached 190, and Heinrich Klaasen believes they fell at least 20–30 runs short.
Our run total was insufficient. A par score, in my opinion, was between 210 and 200. However, Heinrich Klaasen stated that it is a component of the game.
“On a wicket like today, everyone is playing excellent cricket. Anyone can be attacked when under the influence. Credit must also be given to them because they bowled well in the middle.
They took early wickets, which somewhat halted the flow. It was challenging to maintain the momentum. It wasn’t enough because this wicket is good.
We simply continued to lose wickets at the worst times. We will take note of it and ensure that it doesn’t occur too frequently.
The next game for SRH is scheduled for Sunday, March 30, at Visakhapatnam, against the Delhi Capitals (DC).
