Playing only four Twenty20 Internationals against India annoyed Klaasen.

Heinrich Klaasen criticises South Africa's schedule and wants more cricket across formats

at the third Twenty20 International against India at Centurion, Heinrich Klaasen scored an incredible 41 runs off of 22 deliveries, however the Proteas lost by 11 runs. This gave the visitors a 2-1 lead over South Africa, meaning that, with only four games left in the series, the Aiden Markram-led team has no chance of victory against India. According to Klaasen, “it’s annoying,” and he hopes that things will improve soon.

The daring batter went on to say that he is really disappointed that South Africa no longer plays a five-match T20I series. He added that it is “disappointing” that the Test team only plays a two-match series against India because he wants to play more cricket against better opponents.

That’s the way South African cricket is right now. We no longer play five-match series. How wonderful would it be if we won on Friday and then played a two-all match on Sunday? This is what Klaasen was said.

“I think it’s absurd that our test team is playing two-test series. We want to play more cricket against these guys and against other nations as well, but we always manage to play only two or three games, which is frustrating and disheartening for the players,” he continued.

Notably, in the second innings, South Africa was required to chase 220 runs. The Proteas needed something exceptional, but the openers gave them a respectable start. The chase was believed to be over for South Africa after Klaasen’s ejection, despite the fact that he supplied and kept the hosts in the hunt. Nevertheless, India won by a narrow margin despite all-rounder Marco Jansen’s incredible 54-run performance off of 17 deliveries.
