In the ongoing Lanka Premier League 2023, Hasan Ali played well for Dambulla Aura. With an average of 16.12 and an economy of 6.79, the Pakistani bowler took eight wickets in five games. With six victories from eight games, his club led the points standings at the conclusion of the league phase.
On Thursday, August 17, in Colombo, Hasan Ali participated in Qualifier 1, where Dambulla Aura defeated Galle Titans.
Tabraiz Shamsi was struck out by the seasoned bowler with the final ball of the first innings, ending with figures of 1/28 in three overs.
Hasan stated that he will not participate in the competition any longer on Friday, August 18, after revealing that he underwent surgery for a finger injury he sustained during the game. He was instrumental in getting Dambulla to the finals, so the fact that he can’t play in the summit game must be terrible. The 29-year-old praised his followers for their encouragement and pleaded with them to pray for a quick recovery.

LPL 2023 championship game featuring Dambulla Aura
Being the most reliable team in LPL 2023, Kusal Mendis’ Dambulla Aura’s victory over Galle Titans by six wickets in Qualifier 1 didn’t come as a surprise. To limit the Titans to 146 after choosing to bowl first, Hayden Kerr (3/18) and Noor Ahmad (2/27) shone with the ball and had help from the other bowlers. Mendis responded with a methodical 45-ball 49, then Kusal Perera captivated the crowd with a 39-ball 53 to win the match with two balls remaining.
Kusal Mendis and company will now play in the grand final against the victor of the Qualifier 2 match between B-Love Kandy and Galle Titans, which will take place on Saturday, August 19, in Colombo.
