Due to his erratic ball-handling performances in all formats, Harshit Rana has been receiving harsh criticism from both fans and analysts. But the right-arm seamer has persevered through the challenges and is gradually beginning to show signs of his skill.
To date, Harshit Rana has participated in five T20Is, nine ODIs, and two Test matches. He has scored a lot of runs despite taking four, 19, and five wickets, respectively. In Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, his economy rates are 4.51, 5.93, and 10.69, respectively.
Gautam Gambhir, the head coach of India, has also been charged with favouritism towards the bowler who was instrumental in the Kolkata Knight Riders’ 2024 IPL championship under his guidance.
Harshit Rana performances have drawn criticism from experts as well as fans.
Harshit Rana joins the Indian team because he is a “yes man” to Gambhir, according to former India captain Kris Srikkanth. Following this accusation, the latter publicly defended the Delhi speedster.
The 23-year-old has finally spoken out about the insults and internet trolls he has been subjected to lately. Harshit claimed that because he is aware that it will put him under strain, he ignores the outside noise.
“Look, sir, I don’t think I’ll be able to play cricket if I listen to all of these things and put some strain on my mind. During the pre-match news conference for the second ODI against South Africa, which is scheduled for Wednesday, December 3 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur, Rana stated, “I try to avoid as much as possible.”
“I simply focus on what needs to be done on the ground.” I don’t give a damn about what’s going on outside or what people think of me. He continued, “I just concentrate on my hard work and what I am going to do on the ground.”
Harshit Rana was one of India’s standout players at the first One-Day International in Ranchi on Sunday, November 30. In his opening over, he claimed two wickets. India won by 17 runs as the Delhi speedster finished with statistics of 3/65 in 10 overs.
