Harry Brook

During his career in Test and Twenty20 cricket, Harry Brook has demonstrated why he is regarded as one of the sport’s brightest possibilities. The child is still adjusting to the ODI format, though.

Earlier this year, Harry Brook made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut. Aside from a century against the Kolkata Knight Riders, he was a disappointment while playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Brook had poor scores both before and after that knock, and Hyderabad released him last month, freeing up INR 13.25 crore from their budget. In the ongoing three-match ODI series between England and the West Indies, the right-handed batsman is competing. The gifted young player discussed a contentious remark he made during an IPL interview prior to the second ODI.

Harry Brook added, “There are a lot of Indian fans out there who’ll say well done tonight,” following his IPL century. But a couple of days ago, they were making fun of me. I’m glad I could silence them. The 24-year-old called himself a “idiot” after he made the statement.

“I regret making that dumb remark in an interview because I was an idiot. You spend a lot of time sitting around in your hotel room in India, so I find myself looking through Instagram, Twitter, or anything and seeing things you simply don’t want to see,” Harry Brook was cited by BBC Sport as saying.

The Keighley native claimed that he no longer spends time on his social media accounts and has delegated control over them to the management team.

“I believed that getting off of it was the proper decision. Of course, I still use Instagram and Twitter, but happily, I have someone managing them for me,” Brook said.

Although Harry Brook ODI World Cup 2023 campaign was not very successful, he got the series against the West Indies off to a good start.

In the first ODI, he hit the highest score of 72 balls in order to help England reach 325 in the first inning. With seven balls remaining and four wickets taken, the hosts managed to bring it down. On Wednesday, December 6, in Antigua, the second ODI will take place.
