Watch: Harry Brook get cleaned up for 3rd time in IND vs ENG T20I series

Watch: Harry Brook get cleaned up for 3rd time in IND vs ENG T20I series

Harry Brook, the vice-captain of England’s T20I team, was removed using the same method during the third Twenty20 International in the five-match series against India. This time, Brook was removed from the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot by Ravi Bishnoi.

All the 25-year-old could do while batting against the leg-spinner in the 13th over was pull a delivery that was way outside the off-stump line. In an attempt to retrieve the ball from far outside for a sweep, Brook approached the delivery’s pitch too closely. In the end, though, he underedged the ball onto the stumps.

Interestingly, this was Bishnoi’s maiden series wicket. Earlier in the series, Varun Chakravarthy had rolled over Harry Brook in Chennai and Kolkata, respectively. Curiously, he claimed that the pollution prevented him and the other England hitters from seeing the ball clearly after the game ended in the first game of the series. Regardless of Brook’s rationale, the English team’s batting problems persisted for the remainder of the series.

Check out the viral Harry Brook dismissal here:

Forgive me, God! 🙏 I rated Harry Brook So High But He Is Another flat-track bully who struggles against quality spin and movement off the pitch. @DelhiCapitals, please don’t play him in the XI!”#INDvENG #INDvsENG pic.twitter.com/oGJtmNHLjO

Chakravarthy’s magic surpasses England’s capabilities.

Chakravarthy had finished his four overs as of the time of writing. In a brilliant spin bowling performance, he took five of the top wickets. The mysterious spinner finished the evening with an incredible five-wicket haul, his second in Twenty20 Internationals. Last November, Chakravarthy played his maiden game for India in the format against South Africa.

But aside from the dismissal of Brook noted above, Bishnoi had a bad day. In his four overs, he gave up 46 runs and was dismissed for two fours and five maximums. In the middle overs, however, the Indian bowlers put up a strong show and held England to 171/9. To win the 20-over leg of the white-ball series, the hosts must thus score 172 runs. Suryakumar Yadav, the captain, chose to bowl first after winning the toss earlier in the day. After a long 14-month break, Mohammed Shami’s international return was the evening’s major story.
