The renowned cricket player talked about the difficulties she encountered early in her career before the main event. The fact that she was from an area with minimal cricket presence just made her trip more challenging.

In Group A of the competition, the Women in Blue will also have to face up against groups like Australia and Sri Lanka. In the previous edition, Harmanpreet led India to the semi-finals and acknowledged that her family’s support had been essential in realising her aspirations.
“The trip has been breathtaking. I was not able to play professional cricket since I was born and raised in a city where cricket was nonexistent. However, I had a lot of support from my family, and looking back, it feels nice. Speaking on Star Sports, Harmanpreet stated, “A lot of people appreciate it.”

Harmanpreet expressed her satisfaction at the willingness of parents today to allow their kids to pursue athletics as a career.
“No one considered sports a career when I first started. Nowadays, though, parents want their children to excel in sports and pursue them as a career. It’s encouraging to see that parents now have different perspectives on things. Few parents used to support their children’s athletic endeavours, but these days, parents are proud of their child’s accomplishments in sports, no matter what. That is a significant shift, in my opinion,” Harmanpreet said.
The right-handed hitter added that team sports provide players with an opportunity to socialise and get knowledge of individuals from various places and their cultures.

“You get to learn about the customs of the people who share the dressing room, who are from different states. I believe that experience is limited to athletics; it cannot be obtained in any other profession. It’s a lovely sensation. The team’s female members are all incredibly sweet and humble. Playing cricket with them and sharing the dressing room is fantastic,” she continued.
