Gambhir’s first coaching assignment conveys strangeness.

When Gautam Gambhir was appointed head coach of the Indian team, he brought his preferred coaching staff, which included assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate. It’s important to remember that during his earlier interview, the former India opener expressed strong feelings towards the management for removing him from the vice-captaincy role in 2012 despite the team’s dismal results.

Before the white-ball tour to Sri Lanka, Hardik was demoted from his vice-captaincy role, and fans began to make comparisons between the veteran’s earlier remarks. Additionally, Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav were selected as the T20Is captain and vice-captain, respectively. with those who don’t know, Nayar and Doeschate had worked with Gambhir’s Kolkata Knight Riders as assistant coaches and players, respectively. Gill made his squad debut in 2018, but Suryakumar was signed by KKR in 2014.
