The match saw Kolkata bat first and amass 169 runs in the first inning. The Mumbai Indians’ hitters attempted to chase down the goal but were once again unable to complete the job for the five-time winners. MI was shut out for 145 runs, and the team lost by a margin of 24 runs.
Hardik Pandya, the captain of MI, spoke candidly about his team’s performance against KKR following the match. Despite a run of poor performances, the star all-rounder stated that he is not yet prepared to retire from the game.

With a target of 170 runs to pursue, the Mumbai Indians were off to a poor start when openers Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma were dismissed for 13 and 11 runs, respectively. Nehal Wadhera and Tilak Varma scored six and four runs apiece, while Naman Dhir added eleven.
The highest run scorer, Suryakumar Yadav, amassed 56 runs in 35 deliveries, but his effort was insufficient to lead MI to victory as the five-time champions ultimately fell short by 24 runs.
