Happy with The team's hard work to achieve even the smallest goals: Harmanpreet Kaur

The much-awaited Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will begin on Thursday, October 3, in Sharjah, with Bangladesh playing Scotland. Harmanpreet Kaur will captain India in this competition.

India is grouped with Sri Lanka, Australia, Pakistan, and New Zealand in Group A. At the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday, October 4, the Women in Blue will play their first Women’s T20 World Cup match against New Zealand.

On the eve of the ninth iteration of the worldwide championship, the ICC hosted a Captains’ Day in the Dubai International Stadium, which brought together the captains of all ten teams.

Harmanpreet Kaur gave a speech regarding the sport’s ongoing development process throughout the occasion.

“I believe that’s something we learn new things about every day. There are moments when you feel, “Okay, I did it!” after winning. However, you can make a few minor errors when you play the following day. That’s a part of the game, in my opinion. Every day is a learning day; learning never ends,” the Punjab batsman was cited by the ICC as saying.

Every game I play gives me more experience every time. My immediate surroundings are assisting me and putting in a lot of effort to get our team to the desired level. She continued, “I am pleased with the effort the team is making to meet even the modest objectives.

Both on and off the pitch, the women’s game has grown remarkably: Sophie Devine

Sophie Devine, the captain of New Zealand, spoke on the incredible advancements in women’s cricket, both on and off the pitch.

“Both on and off the pitch, the women’s game has grown immensely. Today’s bowlers routinely hit speeds of 120 km/h and over, demonstrating their increased skill and fitness. We have some exciting young fast bowlers who have developed tremendously over the past 12 to 18 months,” Devine said.

The shortest version of the game has seen 13 meetings between India and New Zealand. In the head-to-head standings, the White Ferns led 9–4. Since February 2022, they have not played each other in T20Is.
