The current Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 saw Royal Challengers Bengaluru lose their second game. Recently, they competed against the Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders. On Friday, March 29, both teams were front and centre at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Though KKR outperformed RCB, the two-time winners prevailed in the match as they pursued a target of 183 runs in just 16.5 overs. For the RCB bowlers, it was obviously a day to forget.
Alzarri Joseph gave up 34 runs in two overs, Mayank Dagar gave up 23 runs in 2.5 overs, and Mohammed Siraj and Yash Dayal were struck for 46 runs apiece in three and four overs, respectively.
Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh was not pleased with the team’s bowling performance. According to the former spinner, RCB won’t have any strong bowlers available for the IPL in 2024. Remarkably, he also discussed the bowlers they released.

How are the bowlers doing? In the IPL 2024, they lack quality bowlers. Bowling is something that worries me. How did Yuzvendra Chahal end up there? Despite being their best bowler, he was not kept on the team. According to Harbhajan Singh, he is a legendary player, Star Sports reported.

With the exception of Mohammed Siraj, I couldn’t think of any bowlers who could help the squad win games. Not even Siraj is able to maintain form. Karn Sharma was rested from the KKR match, he continued.

Harbhajan Singh further emphasised the fact that Royal Challengers Bengaluru has consistently failed to support its players. Harbhajan stated, citing Shivam Dube as an example of his outstanding play for the Chennai Super Kings.
They don’t support the players. Shivam Dube, who is currently winning games for the Chennai Super Kings, was not able to give RCB his best. He was CSK’s standout player throughout the 2023 championship campaign. Shivam didn’t perform well throughout his RCB game. In actuality, players receive support at CSK, but things are different at RCB. Dube will falter if you put him to bat in the No. 5 or 6 position.”
