Not much of an impact was made by top batsmen like Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli. Kohli and Gill, however, made the decision to rehearse in the nets and make amends for the second innings while the Brisbane Test was still in progress after being dismissed cheaply in the first.
In the third Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024–25) at the Gabba, Team India’s batting problems persisted when the top order once again failed against Australia. A notable problem for Indian batters has been choosing shots, particularly when they are not in the off-stump channel. The top Indian hitters in the series are dealing with a lot of problems because they haven’t performed at their best thus far.
Despite the visitors’ dismal batting performance thus far, 2011 World Cup winner and former India spinner Harbhajan Singh attended the practice to see the great Indian hitters’ behind-the-scenes activities.
He also offered his thoughts on what the batters might be attempting to accomplish in the nets and whether they can still regain their lost form in preparation for a potential second innings in the current Test match.
As he watched the net practice session, Harbhajan remarked exclusively on Star Sports, “The more you play, the better you get, and Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill will hope when they come out to play in the next innings for India that they can get a big daddy 100 for their team.”

Despite Jadeja’s tenacity, India is still having difficulties.
Speaking of the Brisbane Test, Team India is attempting to steer clear of a rematch after they did not spend enough time in the crease. Star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, however, displayed some tenacity in the middle order with his 77-run knock off 123 balls before being dismissed while trying to reach the follow-on total following the tea break.
With pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Akashdeep dominating the crease, India is currently at 215/9 after 67 overs of play. Bumrah sumptuously hit Pat Cummins for a six off a wicked bouncer in the 68th over, but the visitors still need 26 runs to escape the follow-on scenario.
