Hanuma Vihari set to leave Andhra before domestic season

According to reports, experienced batsman Hanuma Vihari has requested a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) in order to change bases before the forthcoming domestic season. Hanuma Vihari, who has amassed 9585 runs in his First-Class career thus far, has stated that he would like to change teams.

Hanuma Vihari acknowledged that he had recently been in discussions with the Tripura Cricket Association (TCA). Tripura will compete in both red-ball and white-ball variants in the Elite division. Tapan Lodh, a former president of the TCA and current association member, explained that Vihari was one of the few people they were considering acquiring.

“A switch has been on my mind. “Tripura has been asking me for a while,” Hanuma Vihari  said, according to Cricbuzz.

“We have suggested a few names for the association to sign as professionals. I am aware that we are signing Vihari, but I am unable to reveal the names,” Lodh said.

Hanuma Vihari has played in 97 List-A games and 131 First-Class games during his domestic career. He has featured in 44 Andhra games, scoring 3013 runs at an average of 44.97, including 20 fifties and four hundreds. In 2016–17, the 31-year-old relocated to Andhra. After that, he went back to Hyderabad before spending the last two seasons in Andhra.

A few political developments resulted from the controversial removal of the Kakinada-born player, who has played in 16 Test matches for India, from his position as captain of Andhra. For Andhra, he has made a number of outstanding and game-changing knocks. His most well-known was when he batted against Madhya Pradesh in the 2022–2023 Ranji Trophy quarterfinal in Indore while suffering a fractured left wrist.

In reference to Tripura, they have been assigned to the Elite Group C in the forthcoming season of the top red-ball competition in India. Services, Haryana, Bengal, Assam, Railways, Uttarakhand, and Gujarat are among the companies they would be competing against.
