Gus Atkinson shares his plans ahead of Test series vs Pakistan

Gus Atkinson is expected to be a major contributor for England in their next three Test matches against Pakistan. The Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan is set to open for business on Monday, October 7.

Atkinson claimed that the England team was acclimated to the hot and muggy weather in Pakistan prior to the opening Test. He promised to make an effort to learn from athletes who have previously competed in Pakistan. The 26-year-old did, however, make it quite evident that he won’t stray too far from his natural game.

“Clearly, it’s more hotter than England. Yes, it was really hot here, but the weather out there is pretty awful right now. Yesterday’s training session went well, and we adjusted to the changing weather. Training feels much simpler now. All I’m trying to do is stay the same. Since the conditions are different, I’ll talk to previous players and try to pick their brains about their experiences. However, I will play my own game and do what suits me “Atkinson stated in a video that Pakistan Cricket uploaded to X.

Atkinson took 12 wickets in his spectacular Test debut against the West Indies in July at the storied Lord’s Cricket Ground. After finishing with 22 wickets in three games, he was awarded Player of the Series. During his career, the right-arm seamer has taken 34 wickets at an average of 20.18 in just six Test matches. His first test assignment away from home is something he will want to do well on.

Many of our young bowlers are prepared to play: Gus Atkinson

Several observers believe that Gus Atkinson has the ability to lead England’s bowling attack for an extended period of time. The future generation of English seamers, including Atkinson and Matthew Potts, have a responsibility to demonstrate their ability after icons such as James Anderson and Stuart Broad left the game in successive years.

Over the years, we have lost a few veteran players, and we currently lack some players because of injuries. However, our bowling attack is pretty strong.

We have many young bowlers who are primed for action, and Chris Woakes has a wealth of experience from his lengthy career. We have a lot of young bowlers who are prepared to go, as I mentioned,” Atkinson continued.
