After India’s recent T20 World Cup victory, former India head coach Greg Chappell sent his best wishes to Rahul Dravid. With this victory, Indian cricket achieves a major first, breaking an 11-year wait for an ICC championship and serving as the ideal send-off for coach Rahul Dravid.
Dravid and the Caribbean islands have had a complicated connection. In Test matches, he was an excellent player, but as captain of India in the 2007 ODI World Cup, his team was eliminated early. The recent T20 World Cup triumph in Barbados, nevertheless, has changed the plot and provided Dravid’s Caribbean tale with redemption.

The Men in Blue won their second T20 World Cup in Barbados on June 29. Along with the victory, veteran Indian cricket players Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Virat Kohli announced their retirement from Twenty20 internationals. Gautam Gambhir, the erstwhile opener, is emerging as a possible contender for Dravid’s replacement as India looks to the future.
The next opportunity to watch the Men in Blue play is a five-match Twenty20 International series starting on July 6 against Zimbabwe. For the series, Shubman Gill will be the team’s leader.
