IND vs BAN: Green Park stand is ready for fans after repairs ahead of 2nd Test

In the second Test of the current series, visitors Bangladesh will square off against hosts India. Green Park in Kanpur will host the match beginning on Friday, September 27. The Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department (UP-PWD) had previously “deemed dangerous” one of the stands at the event, the Balcony ‘C’ stand. In a recent development, nevertheless, the problematic part has been cleared for usage ahead of the second Test after repairs and a good safety report from Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU).

It is important to note that 1,700 people can sit at the top of the area and 1,900 at the bottom. Less than half of the tickets available for the Balcony C Stand were requested to be sold by the UP PWD earlier this year. Sanjay Kapoor, the director of the venue, recently said that 5,000 more seats have been added in advance of the second Test. In addition, he discussed the state of the floodlights surrounding the stadium.

“Everything is set up and ready for the event at Green Park Stadium. News18 cited Kapoor as adding, “This match will be celebrated not just in the Green Park stadium but throughout Kanpur.”

India wants to win Kanpur without losing to Bangladesh.

In relation to the current series, on September 19, the two-game Test series got underway in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. India batted first in the match and amassed 339 runs in the opening half. In addition, the hosts restricted Bangladesh to a pitiful 149 runs in the opening session.

After scoring 287 runs in the second innings, the hosts declared, setting Bangladesh a challenging goal of 515 runs to win the match.

The team then proceeded to further their dominance at home by cheaply bundling out the visitors. India will be hoping to secure a victory and finish the series undefeated as they prepare for the match in Kanpur.
