It’s hard to declare that this is the greatest Indian pace attack ever: Sourav Ganguly

"In the 2003 World Cup, (Ashish) Nehra, Zaheer (Khan), and (Javagal) Srinath also bowled brilliantly," stated Ganguly.

The former captain of India, Sourav Ganguly, feels that Men in Blue’s bowling attack right now isn’t the best in history. The team captained by Rohit Sharma is now leading the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, and they have checked all the boxes thus far. The trio of Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Jasprit Bumrah from India’s pace attack made a lasting impression.

Sourav Ganguly, meanwhile, said that Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan, and Javagal Srinath’s speed attack during the 2003 World Cup was remarkable. “I’m not sure if this is the greatest Indian pace attack to occur in history. ”

Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan, and (Javagal) Srinath bowled brilliantly in the 2003 World Cup,” Sourav Ganguly said Sports Tak.

The 51-year-old went on to say that Bumrah, Shami, and Siraj fascinate him and have a big impact on the team’s performance.

However, it’s thrilling to watch Siraj, Bumrah, and Shami bowl. Having Bumrah makes a significant difference. The fact that bowing in pairs is always the norm puts pressure on both sides. Bumrah also has a significant influence on the other two,” he continued.

The former president of the BCCI continued praising Shami for his exceptional performance in the current competition. Despite starting the first four games on the bench, Shami has taken the most wickets (16 at an average of 7.00 and an economy rate of 4.30), making him the team’s top wicket-taker.

“Yes, Shami ought to have been in the starting lineup much sooner. “Observe the influence he has had,” the former cricket player continued.

The first squad to advance to the competition’s semifinals is Team India. On Sunday, November 12, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the Men in Blue will square off against the Netherlands in their last group stage match before the knockout round.
