July 10, 2023 – Rand Prairie, Texas. On Thursday, in front of a packed audience in North Texas, American cricket will experience a historic night. For the opening game of the inaugural Major League Cricket season, Grand Prairie Stadium, America’s new premier cricket venue, is now sold out. At 7:30 p.m., the hometown Texas Super Kings and the Los Angeles Knight Riders will square off. Both teams will be comprised of the best domestic talent and world-class cricket players.
The historic occasion will also include a wide range of entertainment and spectacle, such as an innings-break drone show showcasing the league’s six teams, an aerial aerobatic demonstration from a GB1 GameBird, and a post-game fireworks display to serve as the conclusion for Grand Prairie Stadium’s opening night.
Co-founder of Major League Cricket, Sameer Mehta, stated:

The captain of the Texas Super Kings, Faf du Plessis, stated:

The Los Angeles Knight Riders’ Sunil Narine, the team’s captain, said:
The first-ever Major League Cricket game will be played in front of a full house this Thursday, making it a historic night at Grand Prairie Stadium. I’ve always expressed the desire to represent the Knight Riders at every game. I’m happy that we are finally traveling to the United States after much discussion. We are excited to introduce our thrilling brand of cricket to cricket fans in America and are thrilled to learn that the opening game has sold out.
The historic American professional cricket championship, which runs from July 13 to July 30, will feature 11 additional matches at Grand Prairie Stadium in addition to the seven matches that will be played at Church Street Park in North Carolina.
