As the administration lead by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath constructs a new stadium in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh will soon have its fourth international cricket arena. A 50-acre plot of land in Tal Nadaur has been selected as the possible location for the stadium. The stadium’s construction is anticipated to be expedited and is likely to cost INR 236.40 crore.
45 acres of the 50 acres allocated for the stadium would go towards the stadium’s construction, with the remaining area being utilised for parking and other auxiliary amenities. The stadium, which is roughly 23.6 km from the Gorakhpur airport, 20.8 km from the Gorakhpur Railway station, and 22 km from the Raptinagar Bus Stand, would be connected by a new road that would be constructed from the Varanasi-Gorakhpur route.
According to a story in The Times of India, an official involved in the project stated that “work on the Gorakhpur International Cricket Stadium will begin soon, and while international matches are currently held in Kanpur and Lucknow, the construction of another stadium in Varanasi is nearing completion.”
